Member Protection Information Officer and Complaint Officer Training
As part of CAQ education program for clubs and regions we are seeking to qualify at least one MPIO for each Region, and preferably each club would have an MPIO of their own.
CAQ are also seeking to increase the number of Complaints Officers in Clubs. Ideally each club would have its own Complaints Officer.
MPIO is a qualified position, and that person would then become the go-to person for advice about dissatisfaction, grievances, complaints etc. An MPIO does NOT investigate complaints but offers advice to all parties including their Management Committee. The Complaints Officer would actually handle the complaint/grievance on behalf of their Club.
There are currently education courses available for both of these position.
Please note that there are MPIO Part 2 courses available by zoom (Virtual Workshop) on 10th May.
These courses are run by Sports Integrity Australia. MPIO (Part 2) is a 2.5-hour session. It is a pre-requisite that you have done Part 1.
Part 1 is an internet course which takes about 1.5 hours and can be done at any time in the comfort of your own home. There are short quizzes as you work through the course.
Anyone interested should register for Part 2 and then make sure they do Part 1 online as soon as possible before that time.
There is also a Complaints handling course on 17th May by zoom (Virtual Workshop) which does not require any prerequisite but will enhance knowledge of the complaints process.
Anyone interested should nominate quickly as numbers are limited.
